My name is Barak and something strange has happened.
I’m an actor, artist and writer living in LA. I’ve been a touring comedian, a failed pastor, a sculptor, an illustrator, a filmmaker. I’ve been in over a hundred national commercials and most importantly just made a meat guitar.
I’ve always been drawn to big creative adventures. Maybe that’s why I noticed that damn flyer.
LONG Story short,
…for the last five years I’ve kinda gotten in over my head, and find myself the President, archivist and sole remaining member of a secret (or maybe just forgotten) society of the world’s most creative people through history.
Apparently, the Society of Creative Adventurers saw the creative process as a literal trek through a mysterious island (the Inner Territories), where chasing an idea is an epic adventure.
They issued warnings. And dares.
I SAID YES.
I’ve been writing a book about them, reconstructing their field guide to the creative process. They had invented a language and a map that connected every artist, every schemer, everyone with a little wanderlust and grit. I needed to share it.
It's The Artist's Way meets Hitchhiker's Guide, by way of paperback pulp novels.
Instead of writing the second draft, I made a game. (They dared me.)
The SCA’s Guide to the Inner Territories
Like all good adventures you awake lost, clueless and drowning. You must band together with a crew and build a liferaft, the idea that will take you all the way to Success Mountain. (Think dark rides, themed restaurants and blockbuster films.)
Along the way you’re collecting ideas, dodging dangers, completing creative challenges to level up your build, and arguing about what the hell the project actually is.
Everyone wants something different. Every game builds something unique, specific and fun. You’ll know what its like to answer the Society’s dare and chase it all the way.
